SWAM - About us

We’re riders first

SWAM is a community of riders brought together by a shared interest in better riding, continued development and enjoying motorcycling with like-minded people.

For many, the journey starts with the IAM Advanced Rider Course, but it doesn’t end when the test is passed. SWAM is about continuing to learn, riding together, sharing experience and enjoying the social side of motorcycling too.

If that sounds like your kind of riding community, find out a little more about who we are and what being part of SWAM looks like.

Why bother?

Because every rider wants to feel more confident, more capable and more in control.

Wouldn’t it be great to head out on every ride feeling comfortable on the bike, confident in your decisions and ready for whatever the road throws at you? To understand why some riders seem to make it look effortless while others tense up, hesitate into corners or suddenly realise they’ve run out of options. Great riders aren’t relying on bravery. They’re seeing more, understanding more and giving themselves more time to make the right decision. That’s the difference.

See what others miss

Learn to read the road in a completely different way. Pick up clues others ride straight past. Understand what might happen next. Put yourself in the right place early and give yourself time to make good decisions rather than reacting when it’s already happening.

Make corners feel natural

Ever watched a really good rider through a bend and wondered how they make it look so easy? It isn’t bravery and it isn’t magic. It’s knowing where to look, how to position the bike, how to control your speed and what options you have if the corner changes. Learn that, practise it, and corners stop being something to survive and become something to enjoy.

Be in control, not just along for the ride

The bike should never feel like it’s making the decisions for you. Learn how to put it exactly where you want it, manage speed smoothly, create space around you and stay comfortable even when the road gets busy. The more control you have, the more confidence you build.

Be ready before it happens

A car pulls out. The bend tightens. The surface changes. Someone simply hasn’t seen you. You can’t control what everyone else does, but you can get much better at spotting the signs, expecting the unexpected and making sure you’ve left yourself somewhere to go. That means fewer surprises, more options and a lot more confidence every time you ride.

MORE THAN TRAINING

What we do
